Find your perfect harmony: you’ll do that here.

The Southeast Missouri State guitar ensemble allows students to improve their classical guitar skills while collaborating with various groups of all sizes. Guitar Majors at Southeast also have the opportunity to play electric guitar or bass in the music departments jazz bands and combo groups.

The Southeast Guitar Ensemble is open to all Southeast students by audition and performs each semester, offering programs of transcriptions and original compositions for multiple classical guitars. The guitar majors in this ensemble learn and perform standard chamber music repertoire for classical guitar in a variety of configurations.

Our guitar ensemble graduates have had professional success and many have pursued advanced degrees at prestigious institutions like Peabody Conservatory, Northwestern University, and the California Institute of the Arts.

"As a performer, Patrick has won several competitions and in 2011 he became only the third guitarist in over sixty years to win a top prize in the Artist Presentation Society Auditions in St. Louis, Missouri. Patrick has also been a first prize winner in the Southeast Missouri State University Concerto Competition in 2004 and in the Missouri Music Teachers Association in 2003."
