Pets and Petals 2025

$5 Entry Fee, Kids 5 and under FREE.
"Join us for a fun-filled, family-friendly event celebrating our furry friends, feathered companions, scaly pals, and floral favorites at the Pets and Petals event!" Highlights include Wiener Dog Race, Dog/Owner Lookalike Contest, Pet Adoptions, and local vendors. This event is pet-friendly.

Have you ever wondered how far you can see from the top of the Dome in Academic Hall? Attend one of the tours and find out. Tours end promptly at noon, so please arrive early.

Come hang out at Kent Library for some fun, family-friendly activities! Snap the perfect group pic at our photobooth, design your own custom buttons to take home, and test your book smarts with our Book-in-a-Jar contest for a chance to win cool prizes.

Kent Library Plaza, Normal Street, and the University Center
Family-friendly activities, a welcome tent, and information, along with a variety of other offerings. Compete with or against your student in physical challenges or BINGO. Visit our SEMO spirit station to pick up a cheeky cheer to wear to the football game later in the day.

Copper Dome Whiskey Tasting Experience
Wehking Alumni Center, Kem Statuary Hall
Parking will be limited as campus gears up for the War of the Wheel, plan for a scenic stroll down Broadway to Wehking Alumni Center for a 1 p.m. or 2 p.m. tasting. Seating is limited, so register today! All registration fees will go towards scholarship funds for the next generation of Redhawk leaders.

Paint Along with EllenUniversity Center
Space is limited to 25 participants. Pre-registration required: Reserve your canvas!
Follow along with Crisp Museum Curator of Education, Ellen Flentge, to create your masterpiece painting of Academic Hall. All supplies furnished. Participants will need to plan to remain for the duration of the event.
4 p.m.
Football Tailgate in front of Houck Stadium
Kick off the football game with appearances by the Southeast Missouri State Marching Band, Sundancers, Cheerleaders, and Rowdy! Also, cheer on the football team as they stroll around the stadium in the Redhawk Walk two hours before kickoff. Personal tailgating space is available in the Wehking Alumni Center parking lots.

Come cheer on your Redhawks Football team as they battle the SIU Salukis in the War for the Wheel!
Tickets start at $24 for adults and $16 for youth ages 2-14.

Riverfront Market
A downtown farmer's market hosted by Old Town Cape, featuring local produce and farm goods, artisan crafts, hot foods, art, and live music. The market is located at 35 S. Spanish Street.
Saturday | 10 a.m. - 2 p.m.
A Day on the River
Hosted by the Cape County Conservation Nature Center at the Riverfront Park.
Discover what the river has to offer you! Hands-on activities will teach you the importance of the Mississippi River and the surrounding wetlands. This event is fun for the entire family, featuring live river animals and free boat rides on the Mississippi with Missouri Department of Conservation river scientists. Boat rides are first-come, first-served. This event is located at Riverfront Park, depending on river levels.
