Let your voice be heard: you’ll do that here.

At Southeast, our choral ensembles consist of University Choir, Chamber Choir and Choral Union. The Southeast Missouri State University Choral Ensemble features talented singers from various majors and backgrounds who have a passion and commitment for music. The ensembles explore the finest choral literature from various periods, perform a wide repertoire, and collaborate with others.

University Choir

The University Choir at Southeast is a mixed ensemble made up of talented music majors and non-music majors that serves as the premiere choral ensemble at Southeast Missouri State University. The University Choir performs noteworthy choral repertoire from the Western Music canon, with emphasis on unaccompanied works, recently composed works, and major works each semester performed with the Choral Union and Southeast Missouri Symphony Orchestra.

Chamber Choir

The Chamber Choir at Southeast is open to all University students by audition. This small ensemble is comprised of members of the University Choir as well as other students who would like to sing in a choir but may not have the space free in their schedules for University Choir. It provides students experience with singing in a small group and the opportunity to learn how to collaborate with others.

Choral Union

The Choral Union at Southeast is a mixed choir comprised of both student and community members. Its primary role is to serve as a symphonic chorus performing major choral works each semester with the Southeast Missouri Symphony Orchestra. Membership in the Choral Union is open to all experienced and confident singers. There is no required audition to sing in the Choral Union.
