Opening Week is practically here! Just a few reminders to help you, and any students you may encounter, have the best possible experience as our campus community returns for fall 2021.

August 16-22, 2021

  • Resident Assistants are already on campus for training.
  • Many of our student-athletes and international students have begun arriving.

Move-In Schedule

Due to concerns related to COVID-19, changes are being made to our traditional check-in process to ensure the safety of our students, parents, and campus staff members. A drive-thru check-in process has been developed to take place in the Show Me Center parking lot (1333 N. Sprigg St., Cape Girardeau, MO, 63701). Students will receive their key, first-year t-shirt, parking permit, among other items at this time.

The following schedule has been developed to allow for 6’ social distancing and to limit the number of students checking into a building at one time.

  • August 15 – Greek, Band, Success @ Southeast Institute, approved students returning for department training
  • August 16 – Greek, Band, Success @ Southeast Institute, approved students returning for department training
  • August 17 – Returning Southeast students
  • August 18 – No move-ins
  • August 19 – New and new transfer students
  • August 20 – New and new transfer students
  • August 21 – Returning students (check-in at hall desks)

Check-in will take place between 8 a.m. and 2 p.m. daily. Students will reserve a one-hour move-in time slot on a designated date. Unfortunately, Move-In Crew volunteers will not be available to assist this year. Students will be limited to two (2) additional people to help with their move-in.

Students who are unable to arrive during their assigned dates should contact us (residencelife@semo.edu or (573) 651-2274) to discuss alternate arrival days/times.

Information on how to reserve a time for move-in was emailed to students directly.
