The University School for Young Children accepts children between the ages of six weeks and five years of age.
The University School for Young Children maintains a waiting list. Admission to the
USYC is on a "first come, first served" basis for each age group. Completed applications
are dated upon receipt. This date determines the order for contacting parents for
future enrollment of their child. The waiting list is updated periodically. Failure
to respond to an update notice will result in withdrawal of the child's name from
the waiting list. It is the responsibility of the family to ensure that the USYC
has current contact information and to respond to communications regarding openings.
Contact us at (573) 290-5135 for more information and to be placed on the wait list.
Upon availability of space, you will be contacted for a time during which you will
meet with the Site Director and learn more about the School. This time will allow
us to get to know each other, and we will learn how we can best meet your needs.
We require that you and your child visit in the classroom for a short time prior to the child’s scheduled start date. The visit allows the child to become more comfortable and begins the process of building trust between the child, parent and caregiver. This will help to ease your child’s anxiety and help him/her feel comfortable with the children and teachers.
Upon acceptance into the program, your child must have a signed authorization form from a physician within 30 days of your child’s start date. All immunizations and screening required by the Missouri Department of Health must be completed before your child may attend the School. If these forms are not completed, your child will not be admitted into the program.
Under no circumstance can your child begin our program until a completed enrollment form, emergency contact form, authorization form, a signed contract, copies of the child’s immunization and your class schedule are submitted.
To withdraw from the School, you must give a two-week notice. If a notice is not given, you will still be charged an additional two weeks for care.
