Guide for Fall 2026–Spring 2027

At SEMO, we know your living space plays a big role in your success. That’s why we’ve designed a room assignment process that’s clear, flexible, and student-first. Whether you're a new student, a returning Redhawk, an athlete, or part of a special-interest community, we’ve got you covered.

Moving to campus is a big step, and you’re not alone in having questions. The Office of Residence Life is here to help you navigate the process and feel confident in your transition. If you don’t see your question here, reach out to us at residencelife@semo.edu.

Students approved for Special Interest Housing will be placed in designated communities within specific residence halls.

Important:

  • Only approved students (and their approved roommates) may live in these communities.
  • If you no longer wish to participate, submit a request to be removed so you can be reassigned elsewhere.

Coaches will submit roommate preferences to Residence Life to support team bonding and cohesion.
Assignments will be released in late June.

Returning Redhawks get first choice! If you’re coming back to campus, you’ll have the opportunity to select your room for the upcoming academic year. Your timeslot is based on when you completed your housing contract—so the earlier you submit, the sooner you choose.
