You probably know by now that getting involved on campus is important. Getting involved can help you make friends, learn about the community, and maybe even help you take steps to securing your future. So, how do you make it happen?
Let’s start by breaking down what “involved,” means.
Getting involved really depends on your interests.
What do you like to do? What have you always wanted to try? Are you into gaming or sports? Do you like movies or books?
Think about things that you like to do and then see what Southeast has to offer in your area of interests. If it doesn’t exist, start an organization yourself!
For a full list of organizations, or start an organization, check out the Southeast Organizations Website.
Getting involved on campus also depends on your openness to participate.
Keep your dorm room door open. Go with your dorm mates when they want to try something new.
Don’t be afraid to go out of your comfort zone a little and experience new things!
