A big part of college is forming connections and building a network, but that can feel difficult as an online student. We have a few tips on how to get started.
Reach out to classmates
It’s always good to get a study buddy for classes, especially for courses vital to your major. Pay attention to who’s active on class forums and reach out through your school email. Keep it professional at first and stick to class topics. If you click, great! If not, don’t worry. Most classes have 15-20 students, which means you have that many chances to make a connection.Join a Club
The pandemic has taught us all how to be more flexible, and on-campus clubs are no exception. A number of Southeast organizations are open to the idea of remote members, especially those focused on academics. Joining a club can help keep you involved, build out your resume, and connect you with like-minded people.Use Social Media
Social media is a powerful communication tool. Make sure to follow the University’s social pages to stay up to date on events and interact with other Redhawks. No matter your location, you can maintain your connection with your peers by actively participating in Southeast's social media community.
