Finals are around the corner, and we know that means plenty of caffeine and late-night study sessions. Here are some tips to help you not just survive but thrive during finals week.
📚 Study Smarter, Not Harder
Studying solo? Great. Studying with classmates? Even better. Set up a study group where you can quiz each other and share notes. Set up a group chat for quick questions and schedule a weekly meet up at Kent Library!

👩🏫 Use Your Professors as a Resource
Your professors want you to succeed, seriously! If you’re stuck on something, check the class syllabus for your professor's office hours and reach out.
Pro Tip: Don’t wait until the last minute to ask for help!
📅 Stay Organized with Due Dates & Exam Times
Finals week can be chaotic, and it’s easy to lose track of time when you’re deep in study mode. Write things down. Set reminders. Highlight the dates on your calendar. Whatever works for you, just make sure you don’t miss an exam or deadline!
📖 Yes, You Still Need to Study for Open-Book Tests
Open-book doesn’t mean easy. If you’re constantly flipping through pages looking for answers, you’ll run out of time fast. Review key topics beforehand and bookmark important sections so you can find them quickly. The goal isn’t just to pass, it’s to actually understand the material.
🧘♂️ Take Breaks & Take Care of Yourself
Cramming for hours on end isn’t effective. Your brain needs a break! Step outside for fresh air, grab a snack, or do something fun. And don’t forget that YOU NEED SLEEP! Pulling all-nighters might seem productive, but a well-rested brain performs much better.
💪 You’ve Got This!
Finals are tough, but so are you. The hard work you’ve put in all semester is about to pay off! Good luck, Redhawks!
