The fees for the Center for Speech and Hearing can be found on our Fee Schedule below. There are several discounts offered for our services based on a sliding scale. To receive any of the discounts, you must complete the Sliding Scale Discount Application.

Available Discounts
Sliding Scale Discount A:

Less than or equal to 185% of Federal Poverty Guidelines for Annual Income based on Household size for the contiguous 48 states the time of service delivery; Eligibility determined by completion of Sliding Scale Discount application and submission of documents to verify household income*
Sliding Scale Discount B:

Less or equal to 130% or less of Federal Poverty Guidelines for Annual Income based on Household size for the contiguous 48 states the time of service delivery; Eligibility determined by completion of Sliding Scale Discount application and submission of documents to verify household income*
Educational Discount:
- Client or client’s dependent must be an actively enrolled, full-time student of Southeast Missouri State University. Full time status is defined as: > 9 graduate credit hours or >12 undergraduate credit hours at the time of service+
Family Discount:
- Discount applies when another immediate family member is also enrolled as an active client and is already paying the “no discount” rate
Southeast Missouri State Faculty/Staff Discount:
- Discount applies to current or retired Southeast MissouriState faculty/staff members and their dependents
If a person qualifies for multiple discounts, only the greatest discount will apply. Only one discount can be applied at any given time.
*Acceptable documents: One of the following: Recent Federal Tax Return (last filed); IRS Form W-2 or 1099; two (2) Current Pay Stubs

+During the summer, the client must demonstrate full-time status for the fall or spring semester of the same calendar year to qualify.
Insurance Billing
The Center for Speech and Hearing does not bill private insurance, Medicaid, or Medicare.
