Learn to make Putz Houses from Jeff Martin and Jeanna Nance at Crisp Museum!
Putz Houses are small, intricately detailed buildings traditionally made from cardboard, paper and glitter, originating from Germany in the early 1900s. They were often used as Christmas decorations. today, they are still popular and can be found year-round in various styles from vintage to traditional. Houses can be as unique and detailed as you care to make.
Supplies to start your base and house will be provided, but participants are welcome to bring things gathered in nature like balsa wood, toothpicks of tiny related toys.
This workshop will be taught by Jeff Martin and Jeanna Nance, amateur putzers and members of a local group. They will provide examples and demonstrate the first steps using a canvas board as the ground for a house. From that point on, all decisions are made by the participants.
A display of Putz Houses will include a haunted house, a farmhouse, a church, a snowy house and more!
