Encourage the development of your child’s literacy.
The Missouri Statewide Early Literacy Intervention Program (MSELIP) combines Reading Recovery®, early literacy group, and classroom teacher professional development components to ensure Missouri students are prepared to read by the third grade.
The Reading Recovery Program at Southeast Missouri State University:
- Collaborates with Missouri school districts from all regions
- Leads statewide efforts for positive systemic change in literacy education
- Conducts and coordinates current and follow-up research
- Proactively works toward the goals of appropriate strategic plans including those in force at the College, University, and national Reading Recovery® levels
The group component of the Missouri Statewide Early Literacy Intervention Program (MSELIP) teaches trained Reading Recovery® teachers to work with groups of children. Additional classes supporting classroom and resource teachers are offered to build their skills in differentiated instruction in literacy in an effort to create literacy supportive classrooms.
