Thirty-five students from Swedish high school, Tibble Gymnasium, visited Southeast Missouri State University Oct. 17, to explore entrepreneurship in its many forms. The group toured Catapult Creative House, explored the International Village, met with local entrepreneurs Laurie Everett and Lisa Essmeyer, and visited Annie Laurie’s, Indie House and Fudio in downtown Cape Girardeau. At the International Village, the group had the opportunity to learn from Shvetha Ghon, assistant director of international admissions, and Adam Gohn, a Cape Girardeau attorney, co-owner of a real estate investment firm and adjunct faculty member at Southeast. The students also visited Dempster Hall and heard presentations from Dr. Alberto Davila, dean of the Harrison College of Business and Computing; Dr. Steve Stovall, assistant professor of management and entrepreneurship; Leah Powers, operations director at Catapult Creative House; and Jakob Pallesen, director of the Small Business & Technology Development Center.

Tibble is located in Tby, north of Stockholm, Sweden. The institution has about 1,500 students who pursue studies in economics, natural sciences, social sciences, aesthetics, international humanitarian law and technology. Their visit to Southeast is part of a larger tour of several U.S. locations.
