At Southeast Missouri State University, we know that practical experience and feedback are key to helping you grow as an artist. And, with modern studios where you can create almost any time of day, multiple public galleries to display your work and receive much needed feedback, a museum located right on campus, and expert faculty artists to give you the guidance you need, you’ll be prepared to find your path as an artist when you graduate.

Learn in the classroom and the real world: You’ll do that here. 

Open your mind to new experiences and perspectives. Students from the Department of Art and Design can travel both nationally and internationally with faculty and peers. While visiting museums, galleries, seeing local performances, and meeting local artists and scholars, students learn of possible career choices and lifestyles that they may have never considered an option. Learn more below. 

Foundation Review

Foundation reviews are formal portfolio evaluations required for all art majors before they enroll in upper-level art studios.
