Whether you're spending your Thanksgiving break on-campus, or going home and ready to dazzle your family with a classic holiday dish, consider making one of these recipes... using your microwave!
Garlic Mashed Potatoes
2 Potatoes
1 Teaspoon of Minced Garlic
2 Tablespoons of Milk
Pinch of Salt
½ Tablespoon of butter
Microwave the potatoes until soft (10-13 minutes). Mixed together garlic, milk, salt, and butter. Pour over cooked potatoes. Microwave for 30 seconds then mash.
Green Bean Casserole
Can of Green Beans
Can of Cream of Mushroom Soup
Crispy Fried Onions
Mixed together green beans and cream of mushroom soup in a medium microwave safe bowl. Sprinkle crispy fried onions evenly over the top. Microwave for 5 minutes.
Pumpkin Pie
1 Crushed Graham Cracker
1/3 Cup Pumpkin Pie Mix
1 Egg
1 Tablespoon of Milk
Pinch of Salt
Pour crushed graham cracker into the bottom of the mug. Mix together pumpkin pie mix, egg, milk, and salt then pour over the graham cracker. Microwave for 1.5-2 minutes.
Stuffing in a Mug
2 Tablespoons of Water
¼ Cup of Stuffing Mix
3 Eggs
Pinches of Salt and Pepper
Precooked Turkey Meat
(Optional) 1 Tablespoon of Dried Cranberries
Large Mug, Regular Mug
Mix water into the stuffing then microwave for 1 minute. In a separate mug, combine egg, salt, and pepper then microwave for 1 minute. Stir in craisins and shredded turkey then microwave until set. Stir in stuffing.
Bonus: Iced Pumpkin Spice Latte
¾ Cup of Milk
¼ Cup of Water
3 Tablespoons of Pumpkin Pie Mix
1 shot of Espresso
Pour ingredients into a sealed bottle with ice then shake until combined.
