Driven by his mom, passion, and support system. Driven by his goals and future. Chris Griffin is making the most of every opportunity and taking nothing for granted.

Currently in his second year at SEMO, Chris is involved in many programs across campus and already preparing for his future career. Empowered by his loving mom, his goal is to attend Harvard Law School following graduation from Southeast.

Chris humbly reflects on the opportunities SEMO has provided and the various individuals on campus who have guided him. Using the support and resources available to him as a SEMO student, Chris has found pivotal opportunities to leverage his ambitions.

Chris was the youngest intern selected for the Congressional Black Caucus in 2020. He worked alongside Cori Bush, assisting with her historical election to become the first African-American woman to serve in the U.S. House of Representative from Missouri.

Chris has big goals for his future and says he'll always attribute some amount of his success to SEMO. After all, he says, Southeast is more than a university; it's a community, a family.

Even if you don't have the support at home, always know that there are people at SEMO who care and they'll support you.
