Frisson, an Exhibition of Visual and Auditory Works by Southeast Missouri State University Students, will be on view Friday, December 6 through Friday, January 10 at the main gallery in the Catapult Creative House.

The works on display were created by students in the Professional Practices class taught by Professor Bradley Phillips. The premise of the exhibition was conceived by the students who seek to transform external noise into a language of expression through mixed media collages. These collages distill visual compositions that evoke both disorder and beauty, embodying the complexity of human emotion in relation to sound. Through this interactive approach, students aim to invite viewers to step into the chaos; not as a source of anxiety but as an opportunity for connection, creativity, and reflection to find meaning within the noise.

An opening reception for Frisson will take place on Friday, December 6th from 5-7 p.m. The exhibition is free and open to the public. For more information contact at Dr. Joni Hand at jhand@semo.edu or the Department of Art & Design at 573-651-2143.
