Combo, an exhibition of digital pieces and works on paper by Emily Booth’s Foundations Students, will be on view from Friday, December 6 through Monday, January 13 at The Nest Gallery in the Seminary Building on River Campus.

This exhibition consists of digital pieces and those made with ink on paper. The digital works were created on iPads using the program Procreate, inspired by the Mexican cultural tradition of Day of the Dead. The Department of Art + Design partnered with the Heather Greene Multimedia Center in Kent Library to allow students greater access to new technology in the Department.

The works on paper required students to address visual balance, asymmetry, and positive/negative space relationships. Students paired up and shared information about their “vibe.” They then created non-representational imagery of their interpretation of that vibe. An opening reception Combo will take place on Friday, December 6 from 5-7 pm in the Nest Gallery.

The Nest Gallery is located on the first floor of the Seminary Building, and is open during normal University business hours. This event is free and open to the public. For more information, contact Dr. Joni Hand at jhand@semo.edu or (573) 651-2720.
