Southeast Missouri State University’s Office of Admissions is launching a Transfer Center to help incoming students with the transfer process.
“Southeast has always had a strong commitment to serving transfer students,” said Associate Director of Recruitment Brooke Lockhart. “Over the years, that model has evolved, and in a recent review of the transfer process, we found areas where improvements could enhance the overall student experience.”
The new Transfer Center will serve as a one-stop resource for students transferring to Southeast, from recruitment to enrollment. The same team members who will advise and enroll students in their first semester will be available to answer questions and provide support with one office helping to navigate through the process.
The Center will also assist in building and maintaining community college partnerships through articulation agreements, transfer pathways, and transfer partnerships.
“College on its own is a significant undertaking,” Lockhart said. “If you add the stress of transferring to another school, navigating a new campus, finding an advisor, and covering costs, college can feel overwhelming. We are so enthusiastic to launch a Transfer Center will alleviate some of that stress and better serve our new students.”
The Transfer Center in the Office of Admissions officially launches on November 1 and will begin enrolling students for the summer 2024 semester.
