Southeast’s Interior Design Student Association (IDSA) is sponsoring a supply drive benefiting the Safe House of Southeast Missouri (formerly known as The Safe House for Women) through April 29.
Purple donation collection boxes will be available at the following locations:
- Kent Library, next to the Mississippi Mugs Coffee Cart
- University Center Third-Floor lobby
- Scully Building Rooms 113 and 114
- Seabaugh Polytechnic Building Second Floor Vestibule
- Dobbins River Campus Center Front Desk
- River Campus Seminary Building Room 104 and Arts Resource Center
The Safe House’s donation wish list includes:
- Cleaning supplies, such as dish detergent and trash bags.
- Over the counter medication, such as Tylenol and antibiotic ointment.
- Kitchen items, such as aluminum foil and quart and gallon Ziploc bags.
- Office supplies, such as copy paper and stamps.
- Miscellaneous items such as pillows, combination locks, phone chargers and Wal-Mart gift cards.
- Hygiene items, such as toothpaste, deodorant and razors.
- Feminine hygiene products, such as tampons and pads.

The mission of the Safe House of Southeast Missouri is to provide safe refuge and support services to those affected by domestic abuse, domestic violence, sexual violence, dating violence, and stalking. They provide training and education to increase awareness of and prevention of domestic violence for the community they serve, and advocate for social change and public policy that protect a person’s right to live free of abuse. Other services they provide include crisis intervention, case management, counseling and court advocacy.
