Your philosophy of teaching:

Good teachers make their expectations clear, they take students from where they are to where the expectations are, and they provide a variety of different learning experiences to help students maximize their potential.

Why did you decide to teach?

Credentials/career path

I was a high school math teacher for 4 years, then started at Southeast in 1992 as an instructor in the Mathematics Department. I was the coordinator for the the College of Science and Technology Advising Center for 5 1/2 years then decided to return to school and complete a PhD. I became a tenure track faculty member in 2006 and have been here ever since. I will retire from the University in December of 2019.
