Do you have what it takes to be a Colorguard member or Feature Twirler in the Marching Band?

The Colorguard and Feature Twirler(s) are very important auxiliary units of the Marching Band. These groups have participated in the Marching Band for over 20 years. They perform at all Marching Band performances during the fall semester.

The Colorguard and Feature Twirler(s) often rehearse separately from the winds and percussion until routines are well-learned. These units typically schedule additional rehearsals on Wednesday evenings during the fall. Attendance at additional practices is mandatory. Exceptions can be made in emergency situations. The Colorguard captain is to be notified prior to a missed rehearsal.

Every member (including returning members) is required to audition for the guard each season. Auditions are typically held on the second Saturday of April. Consult the Marching Band webpage regularly during the spring semester for dates and details of the audition process.

If you have any questions or require further information regarding the Southeast Colorguard or Feature Twirler(s), please contact semoband@semo.edu or (573) 651-2335.

Are you interested in being in the colorguard or a feature twirler?

An audition is required for both the colorguard and feature twirlers. These individuals do not need to be a part of the music department but should have a background in their field with the necessary skills required.
