Dr. Kessler, a passionate physicist, boasts a diverse range of expertise in the field of molecular biophysics, single molecule imaging, optical tweezers, molecular motors, and various other intriguing processes. Their academic journey led them to earn a Ph.D. from Washington University in St. Louis in 2015, following their earlier educational pursuits that culminated in a B.S. in Mathematics, Engineering Physics, and Physics from Southeast Missouri State University in 2010.

Dr. Kessler's quest for knowledge didn't stop with their doctorate. They further honed their skills and insights during a postdoctoral fellowship at the Washington University School of Medicine from 2015 to 2016.

In addition to their impressive academic achievements, Dr. Kessler is an enthusiastic mentor who has advised undergraduate research projects across an array of captivating topics, including sports physics (with a keen focus on golf and baseball), supercomputing, gravitational waves, and magnetic nanomaterials.

With a dedication to pushing the boundaries of science and a commitment to nurturing the next generation of researchers, Dr. Kessler continues to make a lasting impact in the world of physics and related disciplines. Their journey is a testament to the exciting possibilities that the realm of physics offers, and they are always eager to explore new horizons and share their knowledge with others.

I aspire for every student to achieve success, even in the face of the challenge posed by large 60-person lectures. I vividly recall my own days as a student, when I would often find myself watching the clock, eagerly anticipating the moment when I could finally leave the class. In contrast, I strive to create an environment in as many of my classes as possible where students are engaged and intrigued, making them think, 'Wow, is the class over already?
