YOUR PHILOSOPHY OF TEACHING
Students are motivated to learn when the instructor takes an invested interest in them. Therefore, I work hard to build strong relationships with each of my students. My goals as a teacher are to present students with relevant information, teach them the necessary skills for them to be successful in their careers, and hold them accountable for learning the required information.
WHY DID YOU DECIDE TO TEACH?
I find teaching very rewarding in that I get to help students learn and grow in their understanding of human development and family dynamics.

I have been at Southeast Missouri State University for over 15 years. In addition, to teaching and advising, I am also the Administrative Director for Educare Programs and the Financial Manager for Horizons Enrichment Center.

Don’t let yourself fall behind in the course and keep your professor abreast of what is going on in your world. Most professors are willing to work with you to help you be successful if you respectfully approach them and keep them informed.
