Communication Graduate Degree

The Department of Communication Disorders offers a competitive Master's degree in Communication Disorders where students will complete classroom hours and clinical therapy hours to prepare for a career in the field of communication studies.

Post-Baccalaureate Leveling Program

Students interested in pursuing a career as a speech-language pathologist with majors in other disciplines can complete a one-year leveling program to meet the pre-requisites for graduate school. Our post-baccalaureate leveling program consists of 29 credit hours and can be completed completely online beginning in spring 2023. Students interested in this program should apply with the university as an undergraduate student. Upon acceptance, they will be assigned a post-baccalaureate faculty advisor.

Graduate Credentials and Licensing

The graduate program in the Department of Communication Disorders has credentials and licensing from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association, the Missouri Board of Registration for the Healing Arts, the National Examination in Speech-Language Pathology (PRAXIS), and the Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (MDESE).
