Communication Graduate Degree

Our graduate degree blends engaging coursework with hands-on clinical practice so you graduate not just with knowledge, but with the confidence to apply it. You’ll work directly with clients under faculty mentorship, deepening your clinical skills and preparing you to make meaningful contributions from day one.

Graduate Leveling Program

Interested in a career as a speech-language pathologist but your undergraduate degree is in a different field? Our leveling program gives you a clear, supportive pathway to meet prerequisites and prepare for graduate study—and all 29 credit hours can even be completed fully online. Students interested in the program should apply with the University as an undergraduate student. Upon acceptance, you will be assigned a graduate faculty advisor.

Graduate Credentials and Licensing

The graduate program in the Department of Communication Disorders has credentials and licensing from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association, the Missouri Board of Registration for the Healing Arts, the National Examination in Speech-Language Pathology (PRAXIS), and the Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (MDESE). This means when you graduate, you’re not just prepared, you’re qualified to enter the profession.
