What is value exchange and how does it work?

Value Exchange is designed to give you an alternative to dining in Towers Café. With Value Exchange, you can use one of your weekly meals (up to a certain value) to eat at any of the retail locations in the University Center.  All you need is your student ID!

What is the difference between flex dollars and Redbucks?

Flex dollars are electronically stored cash on your Student ID as part of your meal plan.  They can be used at any campus dining location to buy additional meals, snacks, or drinks. Redbucks are a tax-free dining option on our Southeast Campus. If you run out of flex dollars, you can always purchase and use Redbucks!

When do meal plans start/reset each week?

Meal plans will reset every Sunday morning and run through Saturday dinner!

How do I check my balance online?

  • Click on the Student SS tab in the Southeast Student portal.
  • Click the Display Chartwells Balance under services.

What happens to the meals I don’t eat at the end of each week?

Meals that are unused do not roll over into the next week, make sure you eat your meals and stay healthy! Every Sunday morning your meal plan will reset.

How do I change my meal plan?

You can change your meal plan at any time, however, if you want the change to take effect for the current semester you must submit a request within the first eight weeks. You can fill out an online form or personally visit the Office of Residence Life (Towers Complex 102).

What is the difference between Classic/Premium meal plans?

The Classic meal plan has meal time restrictions, meaning you can only have one meal per meal period. In the Premium meal plans, there are no meal time restrictions and any number of meals can be used between the times of 7:00am-9:00pm. Premium Meal Plans also come with guest meals!

What if I have food allergies?

Southeast takes care of their students with dietary restrictions and allergens by keeping an Oasis or G8 Station and staff registered Dietitian. Students who are on a meal plan an have meals prepared especially for them to accommodate their needs.

What are the benefits of signing up for a meal plan?

  • It can save you money!
  • You won’t have to race back to your room to cook up a meal.
  • Eat with your friends!
  • Our meal plan works anywhere on campus. You don’t require any kind of extra-special card or money.
  • Commuter students who sign up for a meal plan receive the same great benefits as resident students.
  • No dishes!
