Mr. Paul Thompson, Instructor of flute. Having previously taught at the London College of Music Junior Department, Colgate University in New York, Murray State University and the Wisconsin Conservatory, Mr. Thompson has held the position of flute instructor at Southeast since 1991.

In addition, he has taught a wide range of Music History courses, Freshman Seminar classes, Jazz Appreciation, Victorian Studies and have conducted the Southeast Symphony.

As a performer, Mr. Thompson has performed at National Flute Association Conventions in Chicago, Los Angeles, New Orleans and New York, as well as at the Saint-Savin International Baroque Festival (France) and on the Great Wall of China.

Mr. Thompson studied with Alain Marion, Robert Goldberg and Rainer Schuelein.

Always give 100% in every class or lesson and don't be afraid to entertain. Usually what one is teaching involves a narrative of some kind. Convey the story in as vivid, humorous, true and passionate a way as possible.

Why did you decide to teach?

I fell in love with it.
