Dr. Aung Myat is a dedicated and student-focused professor with a profound background in Thermal Fluid Sciences, Thermodynamics, and Heat Transfer. With six years of invaluable teaching experience, he is passionate about guiding students toward academic success and empowering them to reach their full potential.

Dr. Myat's commitment to education is evident through his ability to maintain an engaging and productive learning environment. He consistently delivers well-prepared lessons and practical assignments that challenge and inspire his students. His dedication to classroom management and student achievement has led to consistently exceeding goals and receiving high praise from both students and colleagues.

Beyond his teaching prowess, Dr. Myat is deeply committed to research. His current research interests revolve around the application of thermal systems, HVAC, and artificial intelligence, with a particular emphasis on developing innovative solutions to address today's most pressing challenges.

Dr. Myat holds a Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from the National University of Singapore (NUS), where he was awarded a Research Scholarship for his exceptional candidature. During his Ph.D. journey, he worked extensively on co-generation systems, including setting up and building a prototype testing facility capable of producing electricity (30 kW), steam (12 kW), cooling (15 kW), and dehumidification (7 kW).

After graduating, Dr. Myat joined the Experimental Power Grid Centre (EPGC), an Agency for Science, Technology and Research (A*STAR) center for energy research, as a Scientist. He contributed to setting up a demonstration test bed that enables the coupling of thermal and electrical grids in buildings. Currently, he is involved in research related to Building Information Modelling (BIM)-based facility operation and management.

Dr. Myat's expertise extends to facility management, where he plays a pivotal role as a Singapore Certified Energy Manager (SCEM). He oversees energy management in the building and has been integral to the renewal of green mark certification for EPGC, a green mark gold plus certified building. Additionally, he has collaborated with industry leaders, including Hitachi, Keppel District Cooling, Siemens, Rolls Royce, and Beckhoff Automation.

Even during his Ph.D. candidature, Dr. Myat embraced the challenge of working as a teaching assistant, imparting his knowledge to second-year students at NUS in air conditioning experiments. His teaching interests span Air-conditioning and Mechanical Ventilation, heat transfer, and thermodynamics.
