Southeast Students Honored with MAEA Member Exhibit Awards

Southeast Missouri State University students won six awards at the Missouri Art Education Association Conference (MAEA) April 6-8 in Springfield, Missouri. Art educators from across Missouri entered their work for the MAEA's Member Juried Exhibit. Results of Southeast students at this year's juried exhibit are as follows: First Place:
  • Digital Design: Roseanna Chilton
  • Ceramics: Ellen Hones
Second Place:
  • Mixed Media/ Collage: Roseanna Chilton
  • Sculpture: Megan Hermann
  • Ceramics: Megan Hermann
Third Place:
  • Painting: James Norman
In addition, Clayton Noltkamper, a 2013 Southeast graduate, received the 2017 MAEA Missouri Art Educator Award. At this year's conference, Jennifer (Richards) Fisher, a 2010 Southeast graduate and assistant professor in art education at the University of Missouri -St. Louis, gave a presentation on integrating writing in the elementary art classroom.
