04/26/2017

College Choice has ranked Southeast Missouri State University’s Master of Arts in Elementary Education among the nation’s top 25 best online master’s in elementary education degree programs for 2017. Southeast’s program is ranked sixth among the programs. “We are pleased to be recognized for both our quality and affordability. Our program has a lot to offer current educators as they enhance their professional skills,” said Dr. Diana Rogers-Adkinson, dean of the College of Education at Southeast. College Choice developed the rankings by factoring in both program quality and return on investment.  The composite score weighs standard academic reputation rankings, program tuition rates, early career earnings of graduates and school acceptance rates. Southeast’s online Master of Arts in Elementary Education is a 30-credit hour program for busy classroom teachers, offering three emphasis areas: reading, math/science and early childhood education. The program, for teachers who already hold their initial teaching licensure, helps classroom teachers deepen their teaching skills and knowledge in their field of expertise or expand their background into a new teaching area or certification. Advanced teaching certificates are offered as a Reading Specialist (K-12) or Math Specialist (1-6). The math/science and early childhood emphasis areas include electives that offer flexibility in tailoring a program to meet graduate students’ interests. College Choice is an independent online publication dedicated to helping students and their families find the right college. The company publishes rankings and reviews that make choosing the best college easier, as well as resources to help students get into, pay for, and thrive at the college of their choice.
