‘What Do We Do With All This . . . ? Opening May 5 at Catapult

Catapult Creative House will display an exhibition titled “What do we do with all this . . . ?” opening May 5 on the first Friday of the month. The show will feature artists from across the nation and from a wide array of disciplines ranging from traditional printmaking to video/sound installations. A one-of-a-kind creative arts and industries incubator, Catapult Creative House continues to promote artists working across disciplines to promote the interaction between diverse areas of study. Ashley Sexton, a senior Bachelor of Fine Arts student at Southeast Missouri State University, curated this exhibition. It will feature artists from Generation Y from across the nation, working in a wide array of media to discuss nostalgia from the millennial perspective. In conjunction with the visual exhibition, a small publication was created with the collaborative help of the Department of English at Southeast. The publication will be free to all First Friday attendees, and available for purchase at the Catapult Creative Shoppe throughout the duration of the exhibition. A reception is scheduled for 5-9 pm. Friday, May, in the Catapult Creative House Gallery. Visitors are welcome to tour the entire Catapult facilities, including the Southeast Missouri State University Department of Art students’ studios upstairs, as well as the Catapult Creative Shoppe which features student work and local business products. Catapult Creative House is located at 612 Broadway in downtown Cape Girardeau, Missouri. Catapult Creative House hours are Tuesday through Saturday, 7:30 a.m.-4 p.m.  All gallery exhibitions, events and talks are free and open to the public.
