SEMO Rising Empowerment March, Survivor Speak Out, Dance to be Held April 20
04/17/2017

Southeast faculty, staff and students are invited to attend SEMO Rising on April 20 on Academic Terraces. The evening begins at 6 p.m. with an Empowerment March, hosted by Redhawks Rising, to raise awareness and increase support for survivors. A Survivor Speak Out follows and will allow survivors to speak (or sing or dance, etc.) their experiences in a safe and supportive environment. Supporters are also welcome during the open mic  to voice support and promote awareness (speakers have a five-minute time limit, and no organization promotion is allowed). The evening will conclude with a candlelight vigil, group dance and music by student supporters. This event is sponsored by Campus Violence Prevention, Counseling and Disability Services, Redhawks Rising, Interfraternity Council and Redhawk Health Educators. To find out how an organization can participate, contact Donna St. Sauver at cvpp@semo.edu or (573) 986-6899.
