03/03/2017

The University Press at Southeast Missouri State University has joined with the Southeast Missouri Chapter of the American Red Cross in supporting a book sale fund-raising effort for victims of the tornado devastation in Perryville, Missouri. As part of the Bruised Book Sale, bruised and lightly damaged books are available for $6 each plus $4 for shipping at http://www.semopress.com/bruised-book-sale-to-raise-funds-for-perryville-tornado-relief/. The book sale, which includes fiction, non-fiction and poetry genres, is a way to support the community in a time of great need, said Dr. James Brubaker, director of the Southeast Missouri State University Press. “Our neighbors in Perryville are recovering from the recent tornado’s destruction, and we wanted to help in any way we could,” Brubaker said. “When we get slightly ‘bruised’ and damaged books returned from our distributor and Amazon, we often can’t reuse or resell them, but now we can put them to good use.” One hundred percent of each purchase will be directed to the Perryville relief effort.
