'Don't Dump, Donate' for a Good Cause Through May 12

Clean out your closets, basements and boxes, all for a good cause this week through Friday, May 12. 'Don’t Dump, Donate' is an initiative hosted by the Office of Residence Life in tandem with the Community Caring Council of Cape Girardeau. All residence halls, including a special booth on the first floor of Towers Complex, have collection areas ready to receive items that students, faculty and staff may wish to donate. All items donated will be sold by the Community Caring Council in a large garage sale at 232 Broadway in Cape Girardeau from noon-6 p.m. on May 18 and 8 a.m.-noon, May 19. The garage sale is open to anyone who likes a good deal. The proceeds of this garage sale go towards helping Cape Girardeau’s neediest citizens, making giving back to the community easier than ever. Any item is welcome for donation, including non-perishable foods, clothing, furniture, electronics, books and shoes. For more information or questions, contact Chris Miller at cmiller@semo.edu.
