Full Campus Electrical Outage Scheduled for April 14
03/06/2017
Facilities Management and Ameren will conduct the annual, full campus power outage on Friday, April 14. This campus-wide electrical outage is conducted yearly to correspond with the campus designated holiday, on the Friday prior to the Easter holiday, and was scheduled prior to the unplanned outage on April 7. The power will be shut down at 7 a.m. to conduct these tests. It is anticipated the power to be restored at 3 p.m. The entire main campus will be affected; however the Cultural Arts Center, the Kenneth and Jeanine Dobbins River Campus Center and Seminary Building at the River Campus will not be affected by this outage, and the utilities serving them will remain in normal working condition. With this outage, other utilities may be affected in certain buildings, including fire alarms, plumbing and hot water. The purpose of this outage is to allow time for electrical service maintenance and backup generator testing. Also, during this outage Ameren will be working in the courtyard and service drive to the south of Scully Building and Magill Hall. They will be replacing a power pole in this location. It is recommended that all departments backup their computer information, data projects and research prior to this power outage. Facilities Management apologizes for any inconvenience this may cause. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact the Utilities Maintenance Supervisor at (573) 651-2214.
