'Take-Away Friday' Continues Feb. 17

The “Take-Away Friday” series of faculty development workshops will present “When Social Media & Title IX Collide' at noon Feb. 17 in Towers Complex Room 110. This week, the Office of Instructional Technology and the Center for Scholarship in Teaching and Learning continue to discuss how the effects of social media are a reality for every college student. The use of social media to spread rumors, gossip and hateful language across campus creates challenges for student conduct officers, counselors and student affairs administrators. This session discusses the line between free speech and threatening, slanderous language; defines community disruption; and outlines Title IX considerations. Come and hear what our presenters have to say! Lunch is provided by visiting Towers Cafe, signing-in and grabbing a box to go. Please register at https://cstl.semo.edu/workshop/.
