QPR Suicide Prevention Training Scheduled Sept. 5

Counseling and Disability Services' Question Persuade Refer (QPR) training will be held from 2- 3:30 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 5, in the University Center Indian Room. QPR training is a suicide prevention module that provides participants with the tools necessary to recognize warning signs and refer individuals who may be at risk for suicide to treatment resources. This introductory level training is appropriate for anyone who has contact with faculty, staff and students. Participants learn how to identify warning signs, clues and communications related to suicide. Participants will also be provided with a QPR booklet, information on local and national suicide prevention resources, and a certificate of completion. Faculty and staff interested in attending should register at http://semo.edu/training/personal-development.html.
