01/06/2017
The Ed Park and Judy Ross Endowed Scholarship has been established through the Southeast Missouri University Foundation. Ross made a $10,000 gift to create the award. The renewable scholarship will be awarded to a Southeast international student from East Asia who is an ethnic or religious minority member in his or her home country, with preference being given to a Tibetan. Preference also will be given to a student who is or has participated in the Intensive English Program at Southeast. Applicants must have a minimum 2.0 grade point average. Ross of Point Roberts, Washington, is a retired bioethicist from UCLA, and the late Park served as an econometrician at Rand Corporation. Ross endowed the scholarship to acknowledge the impact Tibetans and Tibetan Buddhism have had on her family.
