In partnership with the Sikeston Chamber of Commerce, Southeast Missouri State University and Center Street Station have launched a Personal Finance course tailored to equip individuals with essential financial skills. Developed by SEMO’s Division of Economic and Workforce Development and exclusively introduced to Alan Wire employees, this program focuses on building financial confidence and honing money-saving techniques and strategies.
The course offers comprehensive training on topics such as budgeting, saving for retirement, investing basics, debt management, money-saving techniques and retirement planning. Through hands-on sessions and expert-led discussions, participants gained actionable insights and practical tools to improve their financial decision-making. While the program is currently being rolled out for Alan Wire employees, SEMO is actively seeking opportunities to provide similar courses to other local and regional businesses, helping employers invest in the financial well-being of their workforce by teaching saving for retirement and investing basics.
