“Recognition like these awards provide much coveted external unbiased validation of the quality of our Marketing and Graphic Design programs,” said Professor of Marketing Dr. Sandipan Sen.  “The repeated wins of our students, over 100 throughout our time submitting student work, show the consistency of our instructional practices and how they have kept up with the ever changing standards of the advertising industry.”

Students from AR 416 Visual Branding and MK443 IMC Practicum collaborated to create the Glenn House Campaign in fall 2023. Christy Mershon, interim director of Missouri Small Business Development Center, assisted in recruiting Historic Glenn House as the fall 2023 project client. Mershon served as client, judge and Glenn House Board representative for the student projects.

Students in these courses have been collaborating for over ten years on experiential learning projects and have taken home a number of ADDY awards. This is the first year the students have submitted to the St. Louis Chapter after the local chapter became inactive. 

“It is thrilling that we have now widened our reach to the St. Louis AAA and won five gold or silver awards out of the 14 proposed projects submitted,” said Professor of Art and Design Louise Bodenheimer. “It’s a testament to the hard work our students put into educational experiences that mimic their future careers.”

The American Advertising Awards ceremony took place on February 29 in St. Louis. The ceremony was attended by leaders in the St. Louis advertising industry as well as competing University students.

The entries receiving silver or gold ratings were:
