Southeast Missouri State University’s new online professional studies degree provides a flexible and unique option for working professionals to earn or complete their degree and achieve their career goals.
“The online Bachelor of Science in professional studies was really designed with the needs of working professionals in mind,” said Dr. Eric Bain-Selbo, dean of the College of Humanities and Social Sciences. “This innovative degree program offers flexibility and convenience without compromising academic rigor.”
Working professionals can now pursue their academic aspirations while balancing their professional and personal responsibilities. This comprehensive program provides students with the opportunity to tailor their education to align with their career goals and interests.

Students with significant professional experience can apply for SEMO’s Credit for Prior Learning (CPL) and earn up to 12 credit hours toward their bachelor’s degree. Students with previous college credits can also use SEMO’s Transfer Equivalency System to see what courses can transfer and apply toward the degree.
“The online professional studies degree will support career advancement or career change with a curriculum focused on strengthening high-demand critical workforce skills such as management, leadership, communication, and strategic thinking,” said Bain-Selbo.
