Southeast Missouri State University, in coordination with local and federal authorities, is continuing the investigation into wire fraud committed against the University.
As previously stated, the University wants to remind the public and the University community that there continues to be no indication that any personal records of students, faculty or staff were compromised by this action. At this time the University has no information to suggest that any employee was involved in criminal activity. There is also no information to suggest that the incident involves any capital project currently underway, or recently completed, at the University.
The University takes seriously its role as a public entity and wants to assure the public that this incident does not jeopardize any current strategic initiative, project, or other activity at the University. Out of respect for the investigation all further media inquiries should be directed to the FBI St. Louis Field Office.
