Adero Willard and Paul Andrew Wandless: Something to Say, an exhibition of ceramic vessels and ceramic monoprints, will be on view September 2-30 at the new River Campus Art Annex Building.
The opening reception for Adero Willard & Paul Andrew Wandless: Something to Say will be Friday, September 2, from 5-7 p.m.
Adero Willard teaches ceramics at Alfred University, Alfred, NY, and she has exhibited her ceramics nationally and internationally. Adero Willard states: “A love of clay and a passion for color and pattern fuels my work as a ceramic artist and potter. My diverse ancestry has taken me on a journey of discovery that is intrinsically woven into an ornate visual language made of abstracted shapes, divided space, and layered patterns and colors. Through the clay form and surface, this language provides me with endless possibilities to express concepts of identity, history, materiality, and design. Working with clay is as much a desire to create as a commitment to nurturing a love of the arts and the handmade in myself and others.” Adero Willard’s website is aderowillard.com.
Paul Andrew Wandless teaches art at Harold Washington College, Chicago, IL. He has exhibited his art nationally and internationally and is an author of several books about ceramics. Paul Andrew Wandless states: “I’m a storyteller, and my artwork is a vehicle through which my voice can be seen. As an artist, craftsman, and writer, I engage and inform the viewer visually and intellectually in both medium and process. My personal theories and concerns manifest as musings, stories, or philosophical statements, forming visual narratives through my work—often as figurative art or pictorial scenes.” Paul Andrew Wandless’s website is studio3artcompany.com.
