A retirement reception will be held from 3-5 p.m., Friday, May 6, in Kem Statuary Hall in the Aleen Vogel Wehking Alumni Center. 

Gullett began working at Southeast as a student employee at DPS in August 1986. He served in every student employment role, and upon completion of the Law Enforcement Academy in 1992, Gullett became a police officer with University Police.

Gullett has served in nearly every capacity with University Police, becoming a commissioned officer, and ultimately attaining rank as Captain of Police Operations and assistant director of DPS in February 2018. 

During his time at Southeast, Gullett has served seven University Presidents and three Public Safety Directors. In his role, he has  represented Public Safety at most First Step Orientations,  encouraging students in his daily routine with no-nonsense advice. While at DPS he selected a new uniform design for police officers and personally designed new badges. He also designed patrol car graphics and introduced a new police records management program. 

In addition, Gullett has assisted with numerous special events at the Show Me Center, the River Campus and Southeast Athletics. He also served as staff advisor to the Phi Mu Alpha Fraternity, a social fraternity for men with a special interest in music.
