Faculty who are planning on leading a short-term faculty-led study abroad program in the near future will find this proposal writing workshop very beneficial.
The workshop is hosted by the Study Abroad Division in the International Education and Services on November 4 at noon at the International Village in the Resource Room 102.
Dr.Toni Alexander is invited to help interested faculty members to go through the logistics of writing the program proposal. Dr.James Caldwell who just led a post-pandemic study abroad trip to Europe in June 2022 will share his proposal writing specifically on pandemic risk management for the trip.
Several experienced faculty-led program directors are also invited to the workshop to respond to faculty participants' questions.

Dr. Toni Alexander (presenter)
Chair of History and Anthropology
Dr. Toni Alexander has been overseeing study abroad programs in her department. She was the co-director for the Silk Road Study Abroad Program in China with Dr.Shu-Chuan Wang-McGrath. She was also the contingent faculty in the Taiwan study abroad program.
Dr.James Caldwell (presenter)
Interim Director of International Business Programs; Professor of Management
Dr. James Caldwell has been leading summer study abroad programs since 2014. His students engage with local faculty, students, businesses, and governments as they take-in the cultures of Belgium, Germany, Netherlands, and France. He has taught as a visiting faculty at institutions in Germany and Belgium and presented recruiting lectures in Nepal, Belgium, Denmark, and Germany.
Dr. Shu-Chuan Wang-McGrath

Study Abroad Advisor, International Education and Services
Dr. Shu-Chuan Wang-McGrath has been leading study abroad programs since 2013 at SEMO. She has taken students to Taiwan to explore the colonial history and culture. She also developed and led the Silk Road study abroad program to China. She is currently overseeing the study abroad programs across campus.
Dr. Willie Redmond
Chair, Department of Marketing; Professor of Economics
Dr. Willie Redmond has led over 35 short-term study abroad programs since 2001, during the winter and summer sessions. He has also coached students in 12 case competitions abroad and has taught in summer school programs in the Netherlands, Finland, Russia, and Germany. During this time students have been able to experience business, educational, governmental, and cultural activities, as they traveled to over thirty countries.
Dr. Kyle Schneider
Assistant Professor, Department of Kinesiology, Nutrition and Recreation
Dr. Kyle Schneider has been leading short term winter-session study abroad programs since 2015 at SEMO. He has taken students to France, Germany, and Switzerland where students get to experience cultural and healthcare differences between the United States and Europe while visiting government, healthcare facilities, and other cultural sites in all three countries.
