Families of Southeast Missouri State University students are invited to visit their students, enjoy the campus and experience all the City of Cape Girardeau has to offer Sept. 24-26 with a full schedule of activities on Family Weekend.
This year’s events feature a variety of activities.
“After last year’s cancelation due to the COVID-19 pandemic, we are very excited to have Family Weekend return and to once again have Redhawk families and friends visit Southeast and its students,” said Michelle Irby, director of Campus Life and Event Services. “This weekend is a great opportunity to see your college student in their new environment. Saturday’s events provide a means for spending time enjoying the beauty of our campus, experiencing ‘college life’ and catching up with your student in person.”
Highlights of the weekend include a complimentary continental breakfast with Southeast President Dr. Carlos Vargas, a Redhawks football game and an outdoor concert at the River Campus Park featuring local artist Logan Chapman.
Families will be expected to follow the University’s Protect the Nest Guidelines, including wearing a face covering in all indoor spaces.
University-sponsored activities for Sept. 25 include:
- The Mummas and Pawpaws Fall Fest at the Charles L. Huston Greenhouse
- Academic Hall Dome tours
- Yard games and BINGO at the University Center
- Catapult Creative House tours
