University Marketing along with faculty and students at Southeast Missouri State University brought home several local ADDY Awards Feb. 23 at the annual 2017 American Advertising Federation (AAF) Awards Show.University Marketing won two Bronze and a Silver award as the Tri-State Advertising & Marketing Professionals (AMP) recognized the best in local advertising creativity. The department won a Silver ADDY award for its Redhawks Brand Video and a Bronze ADDY award for the Southeast Recruitment Video, both of which competed in the Branded Content & Entertainment Non-Broadcast category. The department also won a Bronze ADDY award for its River Campus Season Brochure in the brochure category.Our continued success at the American Advertising Awards speaks to immense creative talent of the University Marketing team, said Tonya Wells, Southeast director of marketing. Their work is always of the highest caliber, and it is wonderful to see their efforts recognized.The Southeast entries were among 132 print, digital, and multi-media advertising projects created between Jan. 1 and Dec. 31, 2017, that were considered in this years competition. Of those entries, Tri-State AMP presented Gold, Silver and Bronze ADDY Awards.In addition, 10 Southeast marketing and art student entries were honored with four Gold, a Best of Show, two Silver and four Bronze awards.The collaboration between students across disciplines is a great opportunity to create unique and innovative proposals for real-world clients, said Louise Bodenheimer, professor and area head of graphic design and illustration in Southeasts Department of Art. The students embrace this experience, and through the process acquire practical skills that attract internship opportunities and industry employers. The professional quality of their achievements is evident in this years awardees.
