Located at 2100 Themis, in Suite 103C, the Horizons Enrichment Center is just over a mile from the Southeast Missouri State University campus. This enables the program to easily serve as an internship or practicum site for students at the university.

Horizons opened our Learning Garden in 2011. The Learning Garden features a gazebo, a butterfly garden, lightened pavilion, and a trellis over the walk to the pavilion that is covered with flowering vines. Participants can help plant flowers and other vegetables in our raised planter boxes. Our Learning Garden was designed to provide our participants with the opportunity to enjoy the outdoors regardless of their disabilities or limitations. The Learning Garden is visible to the entire city and shows our friends and neighbors the many contributions our population of participants can make to their community.

We were excited to announce our new gym area in July of 2018. Participants can enjoy playing basketball, volleyball, air hockey, ping-pong, and other various activities in this new space.

In the event of inclement weather, Horizons will follow the Cape Girardeau Public School’s Policy. Sign up for the text alert service provided by the Southeast Missourian to receive notification of the center’s closing.
