Art majors have a number of opportunities each year to exhibit their artwork. Art projects are displayed regularly in the department and in the University Center display cases. The library also accepts art student exhibitions. Most important, are the Annual Art Students Juried Assessment Exhibition and the Annual Art Seniors Exhibition.
For the Annual Art Students Juried Assessment Exhibition, all majors must enter two works they produced in class. All pieces entered are judged by a juror/artist from another university. Monetary awards are given in each category, and purchase awards are given from many administrative offices.
Students wishing to accomplish a BFA degree in art must exhibit a body of work created during their senior year. These exhibitions are held in the campus museum or in community exhibition spaces. Senior BFA artwork is produced under the direction of three faculty members who help prepare the student for a career in art.
